flies

As boys we begin with flies. I don't remember where I heard this, but I remember that it meant that people start off with small things.Back in the day littleboys, and still sometimes today, they rip wings off of flies to torture or to see what will happen. As boys get older they move onto cats and dogs, lizards and the like. Eventually, they turn on eachother. They torture and kill other men- wether literally or figuratively depends on the man. The point is- we start off with little things, and as we grow so does our prey. The things we choose to hurt cannot be beneath us,but some formidable foe that is worth our time. Still, we can't torture and destroy without a little practice. We feel like we have to demonstrate our strength and if it was something petty that we hurt, that makes us look weaker. The stronger our foe, the better, stronger, more powerful we look.

Funny, though, the common trait in serial killers is that as little children they torture animals.

Payment

Why have we as a people let money rule all things. People used to work for what they needed and it was always possible to trade something for something else. Okay people haven't ever done really good with money or the barter system, but I still think we'd be just fine if money didn't exist at all. I mean, in this life in this world of course I want money and need it, but if never existed and we all lived in what communism is SUPPOSED to be like, then we'd be fine. Of course the communism of North Korea, Cuba and China isn't what the founders wanted it to be. But the idea of a utopia where people all worked together and everyone got what they needed based on the work they do - that's how it should be. Then, I know if you rich and want to splurge on some things to make life easier for you that's fine. But people buying things at high prices just cause- that's too much. Wouldn't it benefit everyone if there was a little more spreading of the wealth? Not socialism or anything like that but really gave a few bucks to people who really needed it so they can boost the economy? Im not gonna pretend I know alot about economics, but still weak, lazy people make money for looking good, or because they're born into it. What about people who work their whole lives and never see a comfortable moment. That's what I think is messed up. Peopl should get what they need based on how hard they work, and how well they do their job, and we'd be lying if we said that's how it goes today. Look at Hollywood.

Why is it so hard to explain Taoism and the like to people born and raised in a western culture? People raised in this culture believe that something that is bad, like the devil, is all bad. Or that something good, like God is all good. In most Eastern religions people understand the necessary balance of all organisms. The yin/yan symbol displays this perfectly. In each side there is a little of the other. No man is all good, or evil - though he may be more of one than the other. I think that this is better for understanding people. You can't always expect someone to do everything right no matter who they are. Or to always mess up. There is a balance, an equilibrium that each peoson has. Without this balance nothing would make sense. Everything needs its counterpart. Men need women, good needs evil. If there was no evil, what would good really be? We couldn't call it good because there'd be no other way to exist. Good and bad are part of life and we need to know that without all the elements that make us us, then we aren't much of anything. Am I making sense?
